2 Requesting Account Deletion

Users may permanently delete their JapTap account directly from the application.

Steps to Delete Account:
Settings → Account → Delete Account

Before deletion, users may be asked to verify their identity by entering their password or completing OTP verification.

3 What Happens After Deletion

Once the deletion request is confirmed:

Your JapTap account will be permanently deactivated.
Login access will be removed.
Your profile information will be deleted from our servers.
All registered devices will be disconnected.
Backup data stored on our servers will be permanently removed.
Active sessions on other devices will be terminated.

⚠️ Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

4 Local Device Data

JapTap is designed as an Offline-First Application.

Deleting your online account does not automatically remove data stored locally on your device.

Local data such as:

Mantra List
Jap Counter
History
Reports
Goals
Statistics

will remain on your device until you:

Uninstall the application, or
Use the Clear Local Data option available in the application settings.

5 Backup Data

If Backup & Restore has been enabled, all encrypted backup files associated with your account will be permanently deleted from our servers.

                Note: Deleted backups cannot be restored. We recommend downloading any important backup before initiating account deletion.
            

6 Information That May Be Retained

Certain limited information may be retained only where required by applicable law or for legitimate security purposes, including:

Security logs
Fraud prevention records
Legal compliance records

Such information will only be retained for the period required under applicable laws.

7 Processing Time

Most account deletion requests are processed immediately.

In some cases, complete removal of server-side backup records may take up to 30 days due to system processing and backup schedules.

8 Before Deleting Your Account

Before deleting your account, we recommend that you:

Export important reports if required.
Download any backup you wish to keep.
Ensure that you no longer require access to your JapTap account.
